Hope
No matter how bad things get, or seem, there is always HOPE!
To survive the problems in any relationship requires a strong person and commitment to the relationship. Being in a relationship with someone that has Avoidant Personality requires an even stronger person. We highly recommend that you find people to talk to, and a way to cope with the stress.
Phillip’s wife did not want to divorce him. She struggled with this for years mainly because it is frowned upon in the church. The reality is that there are a lot of Christians and clergy that are divorced.
AVP is a very, very tough condition. Sometimes it takes letting the one with AVP hit rock bottom in order to wake them up to the reality that they need help.
Find Someone To Talk To
It is difficult to find someone who understand mental illness and even less so that understand Avoidant Personality. Very few people know what Avp is, much less how to deal with it.
During Round 1 of Phillip’s marriage, his wife’s family and friends had no clue what AVP was, or how to advise her. But that did not prevent them from offering up advice.
It is critical you both, the one with AVP and the Loved One, find someone to talk to. If you cannot find anyone in your area, family, friend circle, etc, feel free to contact us below.
